This is one of the simplest method and you only need a windows 7 Installation CD/USB to reset the password.

How to reset windows password

Insert windows 7 disk into your CD Rom and Restart your computer.
Press any key to Boot from the Cd and then click on Repair your Computer

Now from the various options select Command Prompt.

Now command Prompt will be open and create a backup of sticky keys by typing the following command in the command prompt

copy c:\windows\system32\sethc.exe c:\

Now replace sticky keys with the Command Prompt by typing the following command

copy c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe c:\windows\system32\sethc.exe

Now restart your computer.
When you get the windows login screen then hit shift button for 5 times continuously and administrative mode of Command Prompt will be open.
Now reset the password just type following password

net user test newpassword

Note:
Test is the username of the computer and newpassword is the password. Replace both with your username and password as you wish

Login in your computer system with your new password.

Now every time when you press shift key for 5 times then command prompt will be opened instead of sticky keys. To get back these sticky keys repeat first three steps and then in the command prompt window type the following command.

This process is known as defragmentation. It can be describes as the process of consolidating the fragmented files which are on the PC's hard disk.

This process happens on the hard disk when you save, change or delete any file. When you make any changes to a file they are stored usually at the location which is different from the original file location. With time the file and the hard disk both are fragmented and the computer speed slows down because it looks in different paths and location to open the required file. It can be done for computer maintenance work as many firms offer this service.

It is a tool which rearranges data from hard disk and then combines them into fragmented files. It makes your computer to run more conveniently. With this Windows version it runs with a predefined schedule and you don't need to run it again and again but its schedule can be changed. Since it is a tool and also used as a service most of the PC maintenance services providers use it. We can check the process of disk defragmentation as follows:

a) Firstly click the Start Button, in the search box type disk defragmenter and click on it from the given results or you can simply open disk defragment by open windows explorer, right click on any drive and select properties, tools, and disk defragment

b) A box will open showing the different disks, click on the disk you want to defragment.

c) First check whether the disk should be defragmented or now click Analyze disk. If it required for an administrator password provide the confirmation.

d) When it finished analyzing the disk you can check the percentage of the fragmentation in the last run column. The disk can be fragmented if the percentage is above ten percent.

It might take some minutes to hours to complete the process and it depends on the size of the disk as well as the number of the fragmented files. If any volume is not to displaying in the select disk dialog box and it has to be defragmented then it should be done manually.

It is an important work that must be done at a regular interval in order to prevent the risk of complete system failure or physical damage to the hard drive.

If you're reading this, you may well be the go-to “tech guru” for your friends and family. Think back to the last time you tried to help someone with a computer problem over the phone without seeing their screen; was it fun? I didn't think so. Mikogo is a powerful presentation and remote-control solution you could use in those cases.
One of Mikogo’s key advantages is that it is free. Free as in beer, and not just for non-commercial use. The better-known remote-control program TeamViewer is free for personal use, but it employs a propriety algorithm to detect commercial use, and if it feels your usage pattern isn’t “personal” enough, it may just shut down on you. That’s something Mikogo would never do.

To test Mikogo, I used a long-distance link (India to Nepal). Performance was excellent. I started by sharing my own desktop, and my fellow tester was able to see everything I was doing clearly and with a low lag. She also had a large red pointer to show things around the screen. With a few clicks, we switched things around, and suddenly I was viewing their desktop and pointing things out.

Mikogo is designed primarily for presentations, and so has a slightly different feature set than TeamViewer or GoToMyPC, another well-known remote control product. For example, you cannot set up unattended access and have your computer just wait for a connection. Mikogo requires someone to be present on both sides of the link to establish a session.

Mikogo’s enrollment procedure is not as slick as it could be. With TeamViewer, you instantly get an ID and a password on installing the application. This is great, because it makes it easy for novice users to invite someone for a remote support session. Skype screen-sharing makes this even easier, as it is just one click away when you’re already talking to someone. With Mikogo, you must create an account online and wait for a confirmation email containing your password before you can host a session. Walking someone through this complex process over the phone might not be an enjoyable experience.

One area where TeamViewer surpasses Mikogo is file transfer: Mikogo lets you send files to the other side, but does not offer an easy way to specify where you want to put them. TeamViewer lets you set an explicit location and just "plant" the files exactly where you want them on the other computer--a very useful feature.
Last but not least, there’s the matter of session indication: While you’re hosting a session, Mikogo gives very little indication that you’re sharing your screen with the world. The system tray icon indicates a session is in progress, but Windows may hide this icon. If that happens, you could be left unaware that a session is still in progress and that you’re sharing your screen with one or more participants. This could potentially lead to some awkward moments.

At the end of the day, Mikogo does work, and works well. It may not have all the perks and extras TeamViewer or GoToMyPC offer, but it's free, and its basic functionality is robust and impressive. It is one of the best free screen-sharing tools available today.

Today, everyone is fully aware of a mouse wheels ability to scroll up and down on a page. However, this wheel can also do so much more, as shown below.

The mouse wheel is not just a wheel, it can also be used as a button. Pressing down on the wheel will act like a third mouse button. This can be used to open a web page in a tab by clicking the wheel on any link and can also be used to close a tab by clicking the wheel on any open tab.
Quickly Zoom in and Out on a web page, word document, excel spreadsheet, etc. by holding down the Ctrl key and scrolling up to zoom in and down to zoom out.

Use the right-click

Use the mouse side buttons

Many new computer mice have buttons on the side of the mouse. These buttons can be programmed to do anything, however, by default the left-thumb button can be used to go back on a web page. This makes browsing the Internet more enjoyable since you do not need to move the mouse cursor to the browser back arrow button in order to go back a page.

Use the Windows Snap To feature

Take full advantage of the Windows mouse Snap To feature, which will automatically move your mouse to buttons that appear in a dialog box. For example, if you delete a file or close a window you may get a prompt asking you if you are sure you want to perform the task. With the Snap To feature enabled, the mouse cursor automatically moves to the Ok button, so all you will have to do is click the mouse button if you agree. This saves you the time of having to move the mouse cursor over to the Ok button and then click Ok. To enable this feature open the Mouse properties under the Windows Control Panel and check the Snap To check box under the Pointer Options tab.

While changing this feature we also suggest looking at other available options in the Mouse settings. For example, increasing the Motion speed can also help increase your productivity while using the mouse.

Manage the open window with the mouse

Double-click the top title bar of any window to maximize a window or if it is already maximized resize it to a window. You can also double-click the icon for the window in the top-left corner of the window to close that window.

Maxthon is probably the best Web browser you've never heard of. I reviewed it favorably in the past, when it resembled a cousin of Internet Explorer 7. Since then, it's changed drastically. Maxthon includes two built-in rendering engines, Webkit and Trident, and you can switch between them with a click,which means no website should be incompatible when browsing. One of the best uses for this is to visit ancient sites (like for work) that only work with Internet Explorer.

Maxthon can even search multiple search engines and display the results side by side--nice when Google isn't your only thing. This feature in particular is unique to Maxthon and gives you a nice, all-encompassing search across many competitive search engines. There's something to be said for Bing, after all, and running it in a column next to Google is wise.
The Maxthon browser includes an ad blocker, a screenshot taker, and even a YouTube downloader out of the box. It's loaded with icons. I especially like that it's got ad blocker standard, as it seems ads are becoming more intrusive all the time, and a simple pop-up blocker just doesn't do the trick anymore.
All these are benefits if you like lots of options. However, Maxthon's browser bar (and the left side of the screen in full-screen mode) is loaded with icons. I counted at least ten. Some of these these icons don't have tooltips, so you don't know what they do. Having so many things to click made me long for Google Chrome's stark simplicity.
Maxthon is for those who want to download a browser and have it include everything you could possibly need out of the box, but still be customizable. Maxthon has that. You can reorganize how it looks, download skins, take away the icons, download add-ons, and so on. No other browser lets you do so much to mess with it. And the fact that it's got two different rendering engines to choose from doesn't slow it down at all - it's a very speedy browser.
So there's a yin and yang with Maxthon; it's a fast, good browser with a ton of features, and is extraordinarily popular overseas (especially China), but including so many things to do that distract from the basic, Web browsing experience may be too much of a good thing.

Stickies 7.1a

A to-do list is a very tidy thing. Items are listed in orderly progression, a neat sequence of checkboxes to be marked as done in due time. For some people, that works. Others (myself included) need a bit more chaos in their organization. Stickies lets me spread my to-do list all over my desktop and arrange it so that it makes visual sense to me.

You may think having your desktop covered in sticky notes is irritating. That is actually true: It does feel cluttered, especially if you've got a large backlog of tasks you wrote down and didn't do. That's part of the magic of Stickies: It gets you to actually do your to-do list, because you want to remove those notes and uncover your fancy wallpaper.

To create a new note, simply hit Win+S from any application across your system. This global shortcut can be changed or disabled, but it's on by default. There are a number of other handy shortcuts, such as Alt+Ctrl+S for creating a sticky and instantly populating it with the clipboard contents. However, this is just scratching the surface of what Stickies can do.

Stickies can contain rich text as well as images. If you type "[]" (open bracket then close bracket), Stickies automatically turns that into a checkbox. Stickies also handles Hebrew and Arabic gracefully, and does not get mixed up if a right-to-left line contains English text.

While editing a sticky note, you can press Ctrl+Shift+A to access the Set Alarm dialog. You can also do this by right-clicking the note. Once there, you can set the note to pop up at a certain time and date. When the time comes, the note sets itself as "always on top" and starts vibrating--moving in very rapid, small motions in all directions. The effect is very noticeable.

You can also set alarms to recur; you can have Stickies remind you to water your plants every three days or update your resumé every six months, for example. You do this by right-clicking a note's title bar and selecting Sleep > Recurring. Recurring notes can also have an end-date.

Speaking of the title bar, you can collapse each note down to the title only. You can also use the title-bar to set the note as "always on top," and of course, to close the note. And if you closed an important note by mistake, the Manage Stickies dialog (easily accessible through Ctrl+M from any note) lets you browse and search all notes, including closed ones. Incidentally, that means if you've written down some sensitive information in a sticky note and want to make sure it's gone, you should delete that information yourself (using plain old Backspace on your keyboard) prior to closing the sticky note.

Stickies packs so much functionality into its 1MB installer, I cannot begin to cover it all. I haven't even touched on its networking facilities, which let you send notes to other computers on your LAN.

You may not care enough about bug fixes and minor features to keep every single app on your hard drive current, but you'll need to keep Windows and a few major apps (such as your browser, your PDF reader, and your office suite) updated to avoid nasty security exploits. Fortunately, you can arrange to have all of these updated automatically.

Updating Windows. Open Windows Update in the Control Panel. ClickChange settings, and set the drop-down menu to Install updates automatically. If you don't have Microsoft Update installed, only Windows updates will download automatically. If you have other Microsoft apps installed (anything from Silverlight to Office) you'll need Microsoft Update. To pick it up, click the Click here for details link at the bottom of the Windows Update window.

Updating Your Browsers. Every major browser has an automatic updating function of some sort, so your browser should already be covered. Microsoft delivers Internet Explorer updates via Windows Update, and Google Chrome receives its updates behind the scenes; to see whether your version of Chrome is current, click the wrench icon and choose About Google Chrome; if your version is old, the dialog box should give you the option to update.

Like Chrome, Firefox handles its updates internally. Get the latest releases from Mozilla by opening Tools, Options, Advanced, Update, and checking Automatically download and install. Safari's updates are handled via Apple Software Update, which normally is installed with Safari. If it doesn't run automatically, open it and go to Edit, Preferences,Schedule, where you can select your preferred update frequency.

You can protect your computer against viruses, worms, Trojans and other potential Internet dangers, but what if someone simply plugs a USB memory device and takes away whatever they want?

With MyUSBOnly you can now protect your system from USB theft as well. As any PC user knows, drivers are absolutely essential to bring out the best in terms of performance from your hardware. This fact was brought home to me when many years ago I updated the drivers for my Creative Sound Card and it was as if there was a new machine or a new sound card. Even recently I had to downgrade from Windows 7 back to Windows XP because I could not find drivers to make my sound card and webcam work with Windows 7 (as well as many other issues with 64-bit software). In a nutshell getting the latest drivers will go a long way in optimizing your PC’s performance to the max.

This is however easier said than done because almost any online software will scan your system and give you a long list of drivers that need updating and then promptly ask you for your Credit Card number before they let you even download a single driver. We all will have an anti-virus or two installed in our system for sure. Once I want to test the anti-virus I have installed. I cant risk my system by directly installing an anti-virus. Then i came across this method of creating a fake virus. The procedure to test the anti-virus is as follows:

Open notepad.
Copy the below code in the file.

Then save it with the name fakevirus.exe

If this file got deleted immediately that means your antivirus is working and updated. Try it.

How to Create a Bootable USB Pen Drive with Windows XP, Vista / 7

No doubt that files can be transferred via pen drives but what if the need arises to reinstall the Operating System in case of a system crash or if the requirement is to install the new Windows 7? What then? How would it be if you upgrade or re-install your Windows OS via a flash drive? There are a number of ways in which you can load or install Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 from the USB Pen Drive. I am going to show you the easiest way to create your own bootable pen drive.

To begin with you will need a PC with a CD/DVD ROM drive, the Windows CD/DVD, and a 2GB pen drive if you are creating a Windows XP bootable USB or a 4GB pen drive if the requirement is for creating a bootable Windows Vista/7 USB drive. To start with, download and extract the program – WinToFlash. Once extracted execute the file called “WinToFlash” and follow these simple steps.

Click the ‘Windows Setup transfer wizard’ and select ‘Next’.

Here you will need to define two paths where the ‘Windows File Path’ points to the location of the Windows installation disk and the ‘USB Drive’ specifies the location of pen drive that will be used for creating the bootable installation routine. Click on ‘Select’ and choose an appropriate path for both.
Accept the ‘Windows License Agreement’ and click on continue.
Don’t panic! The ‘Warning’ is just to remind you that the pen drive will be formatted before proceeding. Click ‘OK’ to proceed or ‘Cancel’ in case you inserted the wrong pen drive or want to check it.
That’s all that needs to be done to be able to create a bootable Windows installation pen drive. To be able to boot from the pen drive you will need to access the BIOS and change the boot priority to ‘Removable disk’. If the settings are right you will be able to boot and proceed with the installation of Windows.

Sign in & Access Multiple Google / Gmail Accounts at Once from the same Browser

Google introduced a new feature which lets you sign in and access two different Gmail / Google accounts at once on the same browser. Most of us have more than one email Id which we use for different purposes. Previously , one can login to only one account at a time through one browser. This new feature eliminates the need of signing out or using a different browser for using other account. Here is the procedure to use multiple accounts in the same browser at the same time..

Go to google.com/accounts
Navigate to Multiple sign-in option – “Use multiple Google Accounts in the same web browse” and turn it on.
Sign into your first account.
After that, you can sign in with up to two additional accounts using the new accounts menu.

After enabling it, You can open and use multiple Gmail / Google accounts in different tabs of the same browser. The feature can also be disabled by going to the above path and turning it off.
Although the multiple account sign-in feature is available for users, it doesn’t support all Google services like like Blogger and Picasa Web Albums, etc. For these services, the default account will be the first account you signed into. As of now, This feature is supported App Engine, Code, Calendar, Gmail, Reader, Sites and Voice and is restricted to desktop broswers and cannot be enabled on your mobile phones.
