There are instances when you lend your laptop or computer to someone else, and when you get it back, lol ….you discover to your horror that the files therein have turned topsy-turvy. Worse still, you find that quite some programmes are corrupted or deleted in its entirety, and your machine is infected with a dozen viruses. You cry in despair, and exclaim: Oh my God, I am ruined. What do I do now? You don’t need to cry if you are aware of the Deep Freeze Standard. This is a unique programme which freezes your computer in a way that would not allow anyone to add, delete or modify a file or programme. While use of the computer is not restricted, the files and programmes will revert back to its original default condition once the computer restarts. Even the Administrator of the computer cannot alter anything. The use of the programme is recommended for those who lend computers/laptops to schools, colleges, institutions, etc. for temporary use of the students. The cyber-café too can also use the programme to ensure that the original condition of the computers is not disturbed and the programmes and files stay intact.
A word of caution here. Before installing Deep Freeze, or enabling it, it is advisable to make a review of the files and programmes that you intend to keep on your machine. Once you have finalised the files, go ahead and install Deep Freeze, as indicated below, and the files/programmes would remain frozen till you disable the programme. It may be mentioned here that in the event of deciding to keep additional files/programmes or modifying/deleting them on a permanent footing, you need to disable the programme first. The process of disabling has been described below in detail. Enabling the Deep Freeze after installation of new programmes would take newer files as well in the default section, and that would also be frozen
